In the decades before cannabis first went legal, then corporate commercial, Mendocino County and its legacy farmers elevated cannabis cultivation to a High Craft, making our region synonymous with the world's finest smoke. Lifelong best friends and Mendo Locals Mike Strupp and Ryan Birchard met in kindergarten in 1986 and have been learning and growing together ever since. , the two have learned from their elders in the biz while adding their own innovations in genetics, cultivation, curing, and processing along the way.
The result is award-winning, critically acclaimed, small-batch high-craft cannabis. Wood Wide is the last independently owned, small-scale indoor cannabis operation on the Mendocino Coast. Located where the Pacific ocean meets the Redwoods, in one of the most environmentally pristine regions on Earth, our flowers thrive on the same oxygen-rich air and artesian well water we were raised on. OUR FOUNDERS
There’s an entire universe beneath our feet, a vast underground interconnection between our planet’s trees and millions of fungi and bacteria. This system of collaboration known as the Wood Wide Web ensures the transfer of nutrients between roots and the soil for tens of thousands of trees that extends across dozens of countries around the globe. For Wood Wide co-founders Michael Strupp and Ryan Birchard, it serves as inspiration: a reminder that cannabis is a community-building source of connection.
