Learning and growing together since 1986.
In the decades before cannabis first went legal, then corporate commercial, Mendocino County and its legacy farmers elevated cannabis cultivation to a High Craft, making our region synonymous with the world's finest smoke. Lifelong best friends and Mendo Locals Mike Strupp and Ryan Birchard met in kindergarten in 1986 and have been learning and growing together ever since. The two have learned from their elders in the biz while adding their own innovations in genetics, cultivation, curing, and processing along the way.
Wood Wide grows small-batch cannabis on the Mendocino Coast, where the Pacific Ocean meets the redwoods. Our flowers thrive on the oxygen-rich air and artesian well water we were raised on. Longstanding friendship and a love of the craft are at the heart of Wood Wide.

Rooted in connection.
There’s an entire universe beneath our feet, a vast underground interconnection between our planet’s trees and millions of fungi and bacteria. This system of collaboration known as the Wood Wide Web ensures the transfer of nutrients between roots and the soil for tens of thousands of trees that extends across dozens of countries around the globe. For Wood Wide co-founders Michael Strupp and Ryan Birchard, it serves as inspiration: a reminder that cannabis is a community-building source of connection.
